On  Christmas Eve in England, a century or more ago,  friends used to sit around the fireplace - with a favourite drink of course - and read aloud to each other. Ghost stories were often the preferred tales. Among the  favourite books were ghost story collections by M. R. James. In 2000, the BBC revived this tradition with a series of dramas based on the  M. R. James stories... Sir Christopher Lee was a man of towering (6'5") and extraordinarily varied talents, which included speaking 8 languages and singing (pop, heavy metal rock and operas), as well as his many acting accolades. He recorded his own version of "My Way" and "The Impossible Dream" (YouTube) Something of a maverick, he loved heavy metal rock and produced several record albums, including  ... For those who prefer a more traditional kind of music at Christmas, here is an especially novel one - a Porter vinyl record album from the in the 1960s - using music boxes. Listen and, if you wish, download "Monastery Bells" (mp3)
